Inside Jonard Asiimwe Grand Strategy To Sweep CEC’s Western Vice Chairmanship

Eng. Jonard Asiimwe has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson for the Western Region for the 2025–2030 term, under the theme “The People’s Choice.”

His announcement has sparked a wave of support across the region, as residents and party faithful rally behind a candidate widely recognized for his dedication to grassroots empowerment, youth mentorship, and infrastructural development.

A seasoned engineer and a committed member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Asiimwe has consistently used his professional expertise and political influence to champion community-led development projects in western Uganda. His campaign highlights a vision rooted in unity, service, and progress—principles he says are critical for sustaining the region’s transformation journey under the stewardship of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

“Western Uganda deserves a servant leader who understands the region’s challenges and is ready to deliver solutions,” said Hon. Asiimwe during a recent mobilisation meeting. “My pledge is to amplify local voices, strengthen our party structures, and ensure inclusive development in every corner of the Western Region.”

Supporters have praised Asiimwe for his practical leadership style, calling him a bridge between the party’s vision and the people’s day-to-day needs. It is this he hopes to capitalise on and sweep the position. His candidacy also fits well with the NRM’s ongoing strategy of fielding dynamic leaders capable of defending the party’s legacy while innovating for the future.

The position of NRM Vice Chairperson for Western Uganda is one of the most influential in the party’s regional leadership, playing a key role in mobilization, conflict resolution, and policy advocacy at the grassroots level.
