Uganda and Somalia are holding the Second Session of the Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) at Mestil Hotel, Kampala.
The high-level meeting, running from October 7–8, 2025, brings together senior officials from both countries to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Key discussions focus on reviewing the implementation of earlier Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on defence, trade, investment, and political consultations, and on signing new agreements in immigration, education and sports, and labour.
The session also features an Investment and Business Forum and a discussion on operational challenges for Uganda Airlines in Somalia, aimed at deepening economic ties and regional connectivity.
