Tanzania President Samia Suluhu Hassan has commissioned 296 officer cadets of the Tanzania People’s Defence Force (TPDF) at the Military Training College in Monduli, Arusha Region, reaffirming the military’s central role in maintaining the country’s peace and security.

The newly commissioned officers include members of Group 06/2022, who completed the Bachelor of Military Science (BMS), and the Regular Group 72/2024. All have been elevated to the rank of Second Lieutenant.

In her remarks, President Samia emphasized that Tanzania’s development and national well-being depend on sustained peace, security and stability both within and beyond its borders — responsibilities she said the TPDF continues to carry out with distinction.

She noted that the addition of a new cadre of officers would strengthen the country’s capacity to respond to evolving security challenges in the region and beyond.

The President congratulated the graduates for completing their rigorous training, urging them to uphold the core values that define the Tanzanian military: discipline, hard work, skill, integrity and patriotism.
