Uganda Airlines Suspends Dubai Flights Over Israel-U.S., Iran Conflict

Uganda Airlines has temporarily suspended its scheduled flights between Entebbe and Dubai following an airspace closure, the national carrier announced on Saturday.

In a travel advisory dated February 28, 2026, the airline said the suspension affects flights operating between Entebbe International Airport (EBB) and Dubai International Airport (DXB). The carrier cited circumstances beyond its control and said operations would resume once the airspace is reopened and normal scheduling restored.

On the same day, Israel and the U.S. launched strikes on Iran, prompting the latter to retaliate, a development that caused the closure of the airspace.

The UAE is one of the countries that have born the brunt of Iran missiles heading to Israel and U.S. bases in the region.

The airline assured passengers that measures have been put in place to minimize disruption. Customers holding confirmed bookings on the affected route will be re-accommodated on alternative carriers where possible or rebooked on future Uganda Airlines flights at no additional cost once services resume.

Affected travelers have also been given the option to change their travel dates to a later time without penalties.

“We are contacting passengers directly by phone and email with specific details about their revised travel arrangements,” the airline said in the statement, adding that those who booked through travel agents should contact their agents for assistance.

Uganda Airlines urged all passengers scheduled to travel on the Entebbe–Dubai route to check their flight status on the airline’s official website or contact its 24/7 Global Call Centre before proceeding to the airport.
