Uganda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odongo Jeje Abubakhar, has departed for Antalya, Türkiye, to participate in the 5th edition of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF2026), scheduled to take place from April 17 to 19 at the NEST Congress and Exhibition Centre.
The minister’s visit comes at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, underscoring the growing diplomatic ties between Uganda and Türkiye.
Held under the theme “Mapping Tomorrow, Managing Uncertainties,” the Antalya Diplomacy Forum is expected to convene global leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss pressing international challenges and pathways toward a more stable global order.
Hon. Odongo is set to take on a prominent role at the forum, where he will deliver a keynote address as a distinguished panelist on the topic, “Investing in Africa’s Future: Strategy, Scale and Competitiveness.” The discussion aligns with Uganda’s broader vision of attracting investment into critical sectors to drive socio-economic transformation.
On the sidelines of the forum, the minister is also expected to hold a series of high-level bilateral engagements, including talks with Minister Fidan and other foreign ministers from participating countries. These meetings are aimed at strengthening Uganda’s diplomatic footprint and exploring new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation.
He is accompanied by Uganda’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Nusura Tiperu, alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ADF2026 provides a key platform for international stakeholders to engage in dialogue, build partnerships, and address global uncertainties. Uganda’s participation signals its continued commitment to active global diplomacy and collaborative problem-solving in an increasingly complex international landscape.
