Uganda, Algeria Seek to Deepen Trade and Coordination in Global Forums

Uganda and Algeria have discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on expanding trade and deepening coordination in multilateral forums.

Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Adonia Ayebare, disclosed the discussions following a meeting with Algeria’s Foreign Minister, Ahmed Attaf.

“Today I had a productive meeting with the Foreign Minister of Algeria H. E Ahmed Ataff. We discussed bilateral cooperation specifically the increased trade between our countries and close collaboration in multilateral forums,” Ayebare said in a post published Sunday.

The meeting highlights Uganda’s interest in expanding economic engagement with Algeria while reinforcing diplomatic coordination on multilateral issues.

The discussions come amid broader efforts by African countries to strengthen South-South cooperation and leverage diplomatic relations to advance trade and shared interests.
