Uganda’s Ambassador for Peace and Envoy at the Uganda Embassy in Sudan, Dickson Ogwang, has officially concluded his tour of duty in Sudan, expressing gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni, Chief of Defence Forces Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uganda for the trust and support extended to him during what he described as “challenging times.”

In a statement shared upon the conclusion of his assignment, Amb. Ogwang said he remained ready for fresh deployment either within Uganda or abroad as the country enters President Museveni’s seventh term in office under the slogan “Kisanja No More Sleep.”

“As I conclude my tour of duty in Sudan, I extend my deepest gratitude to H.E. President Museveni, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their trust and support during challenging times,” he said.

The envoy added that he was prepared to continue serving Uganda with “an unwavering mandate of integrity,” particularly in the fight against corruption and in advancing the country’s socio-economic transformation agenda.

“As we enter this 7th term of ‘Kisanja No More Sleep,’ I stand ready for fresh deployment, whether here at home or in our Missions abroad,” he stated. “Armed with an unwavering mandate of integrity, I am prepared to lead the fight against corruption and advance Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.”

Ogwang’s remarks come at a time when Uganda continues to strengthen its diplomatic and security engagements across the region, including in Sudan, where conflict and instability have continued to affect diplomatic operations and humanitarian efforts.

His statement has since attracted praise from supporters online, with many commending his loyalty to the government and willingness to continue serving in difficult assignments.
