The Ruparelia Foundation has added yet another prestigious accolade to its already expanded portfolio of recognitions, after receiving an Appreciation Award from the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), in acknowledgement of its instrumental role in supporting the Kampala City Festival 2025.
The award, presented under the authority of the KCCA Executive Director, Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki, specifically commends the foundation “for powering the Kampala City Festival 2025” and for its contribution towards transforming Kampala into “a vibrant, attractive, livable and sustainable city.”
This recognition underscores the foundation’s sustained commitment to urban social development, cultural promotion, and public-private partnerships aimed at enhancing the capital’s global appeal.
According to the inscription on the plaque, KCCA expressed gratitude to the Ruparelia Foundation for believing in and advancing a shared vision of a modern, inclusive Kampala. The Kampala City Festival, one of the region’s largest public celebrations, serves as a convergence of culture, business, tourism, and civic engagement—an ecosystem the foundation has consistently supported through financial and logistical backing.
City authorities have increasingly leaned on private sector actors such as the Ruparelia Foundation to bridge funding gaps and amplify the scale and quality of urban events that position Kampala as a competitive metropolitan hub in East Africa.
This latest honour adds to a long list of awards earned by the Ruparelia Foundation under the stewardship of its founding chairman, Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, whose philanthropic footprint continues to shape multiple sectors, including education, health, tourism, and community development.
Over the years, the foundation has cultivated a reputation for strategic philanthropy—aligning its interventions with national development priorities while simultaneously reinforcing the Ruparelia Group’s broader socio-economic influence.
