The Ambassador of Denmark to Uganda, Her Excellency Signe Winding Albjerg, has reaffirmed Denmark’s commitment to strengthening investment cooperation with Uganda, emphasizing mutual growth, sustainable development, and a secure business environment.

She made the remarks during a meeting with Col Edith Nakalema, Head of the State House Investors Protection Unit (SHIPU), held to explore ways of deepening collaboration between the two countries in promoting and safeguarding investments.

Ambassador Albjerg described Uganda as “an interesting and promising market,” noting Denmark’s determination to foster stronger business, wealth, and investment ties grounded in mutual benefit.

“We are committed to fostering stronger business, wealth, and investment ties, and look forward to deeper engagement and trade based on mutual interests for the growth of both our countries,” said Ambassador Albjerg.

The meeting focused on SHIPU’s mandate of protecting investors and coordinating government ministries, departments, and agencies to ensure a secure, transparent, and sustainable investment environment.

Ambassador Albjerg emphasized Denmark’s readiness to collaborate with Uganda in advancing sustainable economic growth, job creation, and value addition, reaffirming her country’s commitment to private sector-driven development.

She also commended the Electronic Investment Promotion Portal (EIPP) for its innovative features that simplify investor engagement, particularly its multi-language translation and user-friendly guidance tools, which she said reflect Uganda’s growing digital efficiency in investment facilitation.

On her part, Col Nakalema welcomed Denmark’s continued support and expressed appreciation for the ambassador’s engagement with SHIPU, noting that the Unit remains committed to ensuring that all investors in Uganda operate in a protected and predictable environment.

Uganda and Denmark enjoy long-standing bilateral relations anchored on shared values of good governance, inclusive growth, and sustainable development. The renewed dialogue underscores both countries’ interest in deepening trade and investment cooperation as a driver of prosperity.
