Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Monday held talks with Mr. Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to US President Donald Trump on Africa, and his delegation for a high-level meeting focused on regional security and investment opportunities.

The talks, which took place at State House Entebbe, centered on the ongoing security challenges in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a region plagued by decades of instability and armed conflict. President Museveni and Mr. Boulos exchanged views on potential solutions to restore peace and enhance collaboration among regional and international actors.

Speaking after the meeting, President Museveni emphasized the importance of a coordinated approach to address the root causes of conflict in the Great Lakes region. He commended Mr. Boulos for taking interest in regional security and welcomed the continued engagement of American stakeholders in peace-building efforts.

In addition to security discussions, the two parties explored opportunities for American businesses to invest in Uganda’s growing economy. Sectors such as agriculture, energy, infrastructure, tourism, and information technology were highlighted as priority areas with immense potential for U.S. investors.

“I had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to President Donald Trump, along with his delegation. We discussed the security situation in the region, particularly in Eastern Congo, as well as opportunities for American businesses to invest in Uganda. I extend a warm welcome to them,” President Museveni said in a statement.

Mr. Boulos, who has long-standing ties to both business and political circles in the United States and the Middle East, expressed optimism about Uganda’s investment climate and reaffirmed the commitment of the Trump-aligned network to foster stronger economic ties with Africa.

Uganda’s ambassador to the US, Robie Kajonge and Washington’s envoy to Kampala, William Popp were among the officials who attended the meeting.
