The spokesperson for the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control, Simon Mundeyi, has clarified the conditions under which Ugandans can travel to visa-free destinations.

Mundeyi explained that although Ugandan passport holders are not required to apply for visas prior to traveling to certain countries, they must still meet specific entry requirements upon arrival. These include presenting confirmed hotel reservations and a return air ticket.

He emphasized that visa-free access does not automatically guarantee entry, noting that immigration authorities in destination countries reserve the right to deny entry to travelers who fail to demonstrate proof of accommodation, sufficient funds, or onward travel arrangements.

The clarification comes amid growing public interest in international travel opportunities available to Ugandan passport holders, with many citizens seeking to take advantage of bilateral and regional agreements that ease movement across borders.

Mundeyi urged travelers to always verify entry requirements with the respective embassies or official immigration websites before departure to avoid inconvenience or deportation.
