Museveni Launches New Cabinet with Tough Orders

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has chaired the first Cabinet meeting of Uganda’s new administration following the successful Cabinet Induction Retreat at Kyankwanzi, calling on ministers to prioritize disciplined implementation, accountability and efficient service delivery.

In a message shared after the meeting, President Museveni said the new Cabinet must remain focused on delivering the commitments made by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) to Ugandans.

“Today, I chaired the first Cabinet meeting of the new administration following the successful Cabinet Induction Retreat at Kyankwanzi. I urged the ministers to remain focused on disciplined implementation, accountability and efficient service delivery as we work to fulfil the NRM’s commitment of securing Uganda’s socio-economic transformation over the next five years,” the President said.

The meeting marks the formal commencement of the new administration’s work after the induction retreat, with government expected to accelerate implementation of its development agenda during the 2026–2031 term.

Museveni emphasized that discipline in execution, accountability at all levels and efficient public service delivery will be central to achieving the NRM’s socio-economic transformation agenda over the next five years.
