Hon. Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, accompanied by Uganda’s Ambassador to Türkiye, H.E. Nusura Tiperu, visited Medistate Hospital in Istanbul, where they held discussions with Prof. Dr. Eyüp Gümüş, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Medistate Health Group.
A key outcome of the engagement was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Medistate Hospital and Bujjuko Hospital in Kampala, aimed at strengthening cooperation in healthcare services, medical expertise, capacity building and knowledge transfer.

The partnership is expected to create opportunities for the exchange of medical knowledge and expertise while supporting efforts to enhance the quality and accessibility of specialised healthcare services in Uganda.
The discussions also explored broader opportunities to deepen Uganda–Türkiye cooperation in medical tourism, health technologies, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and investment in Uganda’s health sector.

The engagement underscores growing efforts by Uganda and Türkiye to expand bilateral cooperation beyond traditional diplomatic and trade relations into strategic sectors such as healthcare, technology and investment.
