NEC Explores Strategic Collaboration with Turkish Technology Giant PAVO Group

Lt Gen James Mugira, the Managing Director of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), accompanied by top officials, welcomed a high-profile delegation from Turkey’s renowned technology conglomerate, PAVO Group.

The visit on Tuesday, led by PAVO CEO Dr. Alper Ozbilen and accompanied by Ambassador Nusuru Tiperu, Uganda’s Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey, took place at NEC Headquarters in Bugolobi on the outskirts of Uganda’s capital, Kampala.

PAVO Group is a prominent player in the technology sector, specializing in IP network communication devices, avionic systems, unmanned systems, electro-optics, cybersecurity, and critical infrastructure solutions. The delegation’s visit was marked by discussions centered on potential areas of cooperation and collaboration between NEC and PAVO Group.

The meeting, attended by Maj Gen (Rtd) Innocent Oula, Deputy Managing Director of NEC, Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi, General Manager of Luwero Industries, and other senior managers from NEC, explored avenues for mutual benefit in the rapidly evolving fields of technology and defense.

The talks encompassed potential joint ventures, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of technological expertise. Both parties expressed optimism about the prospects of a strategic partnership that could contribute significantly to technological advancements and innovation in Uganda.

Dr. Alper Ozbilen, PAVO CEO, expressed his enthusiasm about the discussions, stating, “I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to be welcomed by the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC). Engaging in a fruitful discussion with the esteemed NEC delegation led by General Mugira was immensely encouraging. Thank you.”

Ambassador Nusuru Tiperu emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between Uganda and Turkey.

As the meeting concluded, both parties expressed their commitment to further negotiations and the development of a framework that would pave the way for a successful partnership. The collaboration is poised to bring cutting-edge technology and expertise to Uganda, contributing to the country’s technological growth and security capabilities.
