President Yoweri Museveni on Friday hosted Atul Khare at State House Entebbe for discussions centered on strengthening cooperation between Uganda and the United Nations.

According to the President, the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to promoting peace, stability and development.

“This afternoon at State House Entebbe, I received Mr. Atul Khare, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Operational Support, and his delegation, who paid a courtesy call on me. We discussed matters of mutual interest and reaffirmed Uganda’s continued cooperation with the United Nations in promoting peace, stability and development,” Museveni said.

Foreign Affairs Ministry’s Ambassador John Leonard Mugerwa was part of the meeting that discussed a wide range of issues.

Uganda remains one of Africa’s leading contributors to international peacekeeping missions, particularly under the African Union and United Nations-backed operations across the region.

The country has consistently partnered with the UN on issues ranging from security and humanitarian response to refugee management and sustainable development.

The meeting at State House comes at a time when Uganda continues to play a significant role in regional peace and security efforts, especially in the Horn of Africa and the Great Lakes region.
