Uganda and The People's Republic of China have continued to strengthen their long-standing diplomatic partnership through both diplomatic and defence engagements this week.

On Tuesday, the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, arrived in Beijing, China, for a series of high-level military engagements.

His programme includes participation in an international military conference, bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart, and a guided tour of the China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC), a state-owned defence company specializing in aviation technology.

The visit underscores Uganda’s interest in advancing military modernization and deepening defence cooperation with Beijing.
