China, UAE, Germany, Netherlands, Pakistan Envoys Present Credentials to Ayebare

KAMPALA — Uganda has received five newly designated heads of mission from the United Arab Emirates, China, Germany, the Netherlands and Pakistan, who have presented copies of their Letters of Credence to Foreign Affairs Minister Amb. Adonia Ayebare.

The presentations took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kampala, marking the beginning of the diplomats’ respective assignments in Uganda and providing an opportunity to reaffirm and strengthen bilateral relations.

The development was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a series of engagements with the newly designated envoys.

H.E. Sigrid Ingelore Luise Sommer, Ambassador-designate of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uganda, presented her credentials to Minister Ayebare, with discussions highlighting the importance of sustained Uganda-Germany relations.

The two sides are expected to continue cooperation in areas including development, trade and investment, climate action, regional peace and security, as well as people-to-people relations.

Ambassador-designate Angèle Van Der Heijden-Samura of the Netherlands also presented copies of her Letters of Credence to Minister Ayebare.

Her engagement underscored the longstanding cordial relations between Uganda and the Netherlands, particularly in trade and investment, agriculture, food security, private-sector development, climate action, security and sustainable development.

China’s Ambassador-designate to Uganda, H.E. Wu Guangrong, likewise presented copies of his Letters of Credence to Ayebare.

The engagement reaffirmed the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Uganda and China, while emphasizing the importance of continued high-level diplomatic engagement in advancing bilateral relations and shared interests.

Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate, H.E. Ashar Shahzad, also presented his Letters of Credence to the Foreign Affairs Minister.

The engagement reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between Uganda and Pakistan, with both sides expected to pursue stronger cooperation in political, economic, trade and investment matters, as well as people-to-people relations.

Meanwhile, H.E. Fahad Abulrahman Ali Mohamed Albashr, Ambassador-designate of the United Arab Emirates to Uganda, presented his Letters of Credence to Minister Ayebare.

The presentation marked the beginning of his diplomatic assignment in Uganda and highlighted the strong and growing bilateral relationship between Uganda and the UAE, anchored on mutual interests, trade, investment and development cooperation.

The arrival of the five envoys comes as Uganda continues to strengthen its diplomatic engagement with key partners across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Their assignments are expected to provide further impetus to bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, development, security and other areas of mutual interest.
