“You’re An Authority in Africa,” Russian President Putin Says In Birthday Message To Museveni

Russian President Vladimir Putin has described his Ugandan counterpart President Yoweri Museveni as a “well deserving high authority on the African continent.”

Putin’s comments are contained in a birthday message to Museveni in which he highlighted Museveni’s “well-deserved high authority on the African continent” and praised his leadership in strengthening Uganda’s international presence.

“Under Your leadership, Uganda has scored a success in socio and economic spheres and strengthened its positions in the international arena,” the Russian leader wrote in a letter that has been shared by Russia’s embassy in Uganda.

Putin also emphasized the strong bilateral ties between Russia and Uganda, noting the value of President Museveni’s consistent efforts to enhance cooperation and friendship between the two nations.

“In Russia, we highly value Your consistent contribution to enhancing the relations of friendship and cooperation between our two countries,” the letter stated.

He also extended his best wishes for Museveni’s continued health, well-being, and success in his future endeavors as Uganda’s leader.
