Ugandan music superstar Eddy Kenzo has once again brought pride to the Pearl of Africa after being nominated for the 2026 GRAMMY Awards in the category of “Best African Music Performance” for his song “Hope and Love” featuring Mehran Martin.

This marks Kenzo’s second GRAMMY nomination, following his historic nod in 2023 for “Gimme Love” with American singer Matt B. The latest nomination is an indication of his growing global influence and continued contribution to elevating Ugandan and African music on the international stage.

“Hope and Love” blends Afrobeat rhythms with soulful vocals and uplifting lyrics that celebrate resilience and unity — themes that have become central to Kenzo’s artistry and advocacy for African identity.

The nomination has sparked excitement across Uganda’s music industry and among fans worldwide, many celebrating it as another milestone for East African music at the world’s biggest music awards.

The 2026 GRAMMY Awards ceremony will be held in early February in Los Angeles, USA.
