The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has issued a warning to Ugandans to remain vigilant following intelligence reports indicating the infiltration of the country by a group of ADF rebels.

According to Col. Deo Akiiki Asiimwe, the deputy Defence Spokesperson, the infiltrating group is suspected to be under the command of Tanzanian national and bomb expert Ahamed Muhamood Hassan, also known as Abu Waqas.

The UPDF has expressed concerns over the ADF’s intentions, emphasizing their aim to sow chaos and mayhem across various targets, including urban areas, schools, places of worship, and public gatherings. The warning comes amid heightened security measures as authorities work to counter potential threats posed by the rebel group.

Citizens are urged to exercise caution and report any suspicious activities to the authorities as the UPDF remains vigilant in its efforts to safeguard the nation’s security and stability.
