Land governance, property ownership and wealth preservation will take centre stage at the upcoming Uganda–UK–Ireland Diaspora Convention 2026, as government officials, experts and members of the Ugandan diaspora gather to discuss the future of land and property administration in Uganda.

Scheduled for June 20, 2026, in London, the convention will feature a dedicated session examining how effective land administration can strengthen property rights, protect family wealth and unlock investment opportunities that contribute to Uganda’s economic transformation.

The discussion will bring together experts from Uganda’s Administrator General’s Office, the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, alongside diaspora leaders and stakeholders with interests in land ownership, inheritance planning and real estate investment.

Organisers say the session aims to address some of the most pressing concerns facing Ugandans at home and abroad, including land disputes, succession planning, property registration, and the protection of family assets across generations.

The forum will also explore how improved land governance can attract investment, boost economic growth and support national development by creating a more secure and transparent environment for property ownership.

Members of the Ugandan diaspora, many of whom continue to invest in land and property back home, are expected to share their experiences and perspectives on challenges and opportunities within Uganda’s land sector.

Organisers have encouraged property owners, investors, policymakers, business leaders and development stakeholders to participate in what they describe as a timely and important conversation on Uganda’s future.

The convention forms part of broader efforts to strengthen engagement between Uganda and its diaspora communities in the United Kingdom and Ireland while promoting dialogue on issues critical to the country’s socio-economic development.

Participants can register for the event through the official registration platform provided by the organisers.
