Uganda Airlines has commenced the process of recruiting a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking a likely leadership transition at the national carrier.
The development follows an internal email circulated by the current CEO, Jenifer Bamuturaki, informing staff that the airline’s Board will shortly advertise the position and encouraging eligible employees to apply.
“The Board will advertise the position of Chief Executive Officer shortly, and you are all encouraged to apply if you meet the required qualifications,” the email reads in part.
Bamuturaki further indicated that the job description and application form will be published on the Uganda Airlines website once the advert is officially released.

Bamuturaki has served as CEO since July 2022, overseeing the airline during a period marked by route expansion, operational restructuring, and ongoing efforts to stabilize the national carrier’s finances.
While Uganda Airlines has not yet issued a formal public statement on the recruitment process, the internal communication suggests preparations are underway for a structured and open search for new leadership. No timeline has been announced for the appointment of a successor.
