MASAKA: Sweet Kids Foundation has extended support to vulnerable children and families in Kagganda, Masaka District, in a charity outreach aimed at promoting education, dignity and hope among less privileged communities.

The outreach, held on May 5, 2026, saw the Foundation donate scholastic materials to 49 children as part of efforts to help them prepare for school and stay focused on their education.

The items donated included exercise books, pens, pencils, rulers, sharpeners and sanitary pads for teenage girls, which the Foundation said were intended to support school attendance with confidence and dignity.

In addition to the children, vulnerable families in the area also received food and household essentials, including rice, sugar, soap and sanitary pads, to help ease some of the daily challenges faced by struggling households.

According to the Foundation, the outreach was inspired by the belief that small acts of kindness can restore hope and create lasting impact in communities.

“The smiles on the faces of the children and the appreciation from their parents and guardians reminded us why this work matters,” the Foundation noted, adding that the response from the community had strengthened its commitment to continue serving those in need.

Sweet Kids Foundation says its journey has not been easy, citing financial constraints and limited resources as some of the challenges affecting its work. However, the organisation says determination, teamwork and creativity have kept its mission alive.

A unique part of the Foundation’s work is its focus on talent development. Many of its members use music, dance, drama, film and other creative arts to raise income and support their education.

The Foundation believes talent can be a powerful tool for transforming lives and helping children become confident, skilled and self-reliant.

Beyond providing donations, Sweet Kids Foundation also seeks to help children discover, develop and use their talents to build brighter futures.

The organisation says it is committed to supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged children through education, basic necessities, mentorship, life-skills training and talent development in areas such as music, dance, sports, drama, film and other creative arts.

It also supports families facing hardship through humanitarian assistance whenever resources allow, while building partnerships with individuals, schools, businesses, organisations and well-wishers to improve the lives of children.

Sweet Kids Foundation says it has received an operating permit through the NGO regulatory process under the Ministry responsible for Internal Affairs, authorising it to carry out charitable work for less privileged children and communities in Wakiso District.

As it continues its work, the Foundation has called upon partners, donors, volunteers and friends to join its mission of creating lasting change.

“Every child deserves hope. Every talent deserves a chance. Together, we can build a brighter future,” the Foundation said.
