Speaker Jacob Marksons Oboth Hails Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo for Empowering Residents with Wealth-Creation Tools - UG DIPLOMAT

Speaker Jacob Marksons Oboth-Oboth has praised the Manager of the Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, for supporting residents in his area with wealth-creation items aimed at improving livelihoods and fighting poverty.

Oboth expressed his appreciation on Monday during a thanksgiving ceremony for State Minister for Agriculture, Desire Muhooza at Sheraton Hotel.

Namyalo visited Oboth’s constituency and distributed various empowerment tools to beneficiaries as part of the ONC’s poverty alleviation initiatives.

Speaking during the event, the Speaker thanked Namyalo for extending support to his constituents, saying the items would help many families generate income and improve their standards of living.

“Thank you, my sister Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, for coming to our home and giving my people items that can help lift them out of poverty,” Oboth said.

Namyalo has in recent years spearheaded the distribution of self-help and income-generating items across the country under the directives of President Yoweri Museveni, who has consistently urged Ugandans to embrace wealth creation and household income generation.

The empowerment packages, which often include sewing machines, salon equipment, brick-making machines, agricultural inputs and other tools, are intended to equip beneficiaries with practical means to start or expand small businesses.

The initiative forms part of the broader government effort to tackle poverty, create employment opportunities and improve household incomes, particularly among youth, women and other vulnerable groups.

Residents who received the items welcomed the intervention, saying it would enable them to engage in productive economic activities and become more self-reliant.

The ONC wealth-creation programme has become a key pillar in mobilizing communities to participate in income-generating ventures, with beneficiaries across the country reporting improved livelihoods after receiving support.
