A military helicopter carrying Kenya’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla, among others, crashed on Thursday, leading to the death of five individuals.
The helicopter, which had nine people on board, met with the unfortunate accident under circumstances that are yet to be fully disclosed.
President William Ruto, responding swiftly to the crisis, has convened an emergency meeting to address the aftermath of the crash and to coordinate the government’s response. The meeting, attended by top military officials and members of the president’s cabinet, is aimed at gathering information and forming a comprehensive action plan.
As of now, the fate of the CDF remains uncertain, causing considerable anxiety among the military community and the nation at large. Search and rescue operations are underway, with emergency services working diligently to ascertain the status of the four unaccounted individuals.
