DOHA, Qatar — Qatar Airways is set to deploy its larger Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on select flights between Doha and Zagreb in October, significantly increasing passenger capacity on the route.

According to aviation publication EX-YU Aviation, the oneworld member will operate the 254-seat wide-body aircraft on October 3, 12 and 23, 2026, replacing the smaller Airbus A320 normally used on the route.

The scheduled aircraft swap represents a substantial increase in capacity, with the Boeing 787-8 offering 254 seats compared with the 132-seat configuration of the A320 normally assigned to the service.

Qatar Airways’ 787-8 configuration includes 22 Business Class seats and 232 Economy Class seats. The airline’s Dreamliners are also equipped with Starlink connectivity, providing high-speed internet access onboard.

The larger aircraft is expected to provide additional capacity on the Doha–Zagreb route on the three selected dates, although the airline may still make changes to the aircraft assigned to the flights.

The deployment comes as airlines continue to adjust aircraft capacity across their networks in response to seasonal demand and operational requirements.

For passengers travelling between Qatar and Croatia, the temporary Dreamliner operation offers an opportunity to experience Qatar Airways’ wide-body product on a route that is otherwise primarily served by narrow-body aircraft.
