The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kampala, Uganda, hosted a grand celebration at Four Points By Sheraton to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Glorious Victory of the nation.

Tuesday’s event brought together an esteemed gathering of diplomats, members of the Iranian community in Uganda, and Ugandan dignitaries.

Uganda’s State Minister for Defence, Hon Jacob Oboth Oboth, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor, emphasizing the strong bilateral relations between Kampala and Tehran.

Also in attendance was Uganda’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Henry Okello Oryem, who joined in acknowledging the significance of the longstanding friendship between the two nations.

In his speech, Hon Oboth praised the enduring ties between Uganda and Iran, underlining the importance of collaboration in various sectors.

He expressed gratitude for the positive contributions made by the Iranian community in Uganda and extended best wishes for continued cooperation.

Iran is currently ranked 18th in aerospace, excelling in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), holding the 16th position in Artificial Intelligence, successfully launching its 13th satellite into space, achieving a top-10 status in heart transplants, and standing 15th in medical knowledge, among other notable accomplishments.

The event was graced by the presence of several ambassadors, including; Lulama Xingwana (South Africa), Zhang Lizhong (China), Tania Perez Xiques (Cuba), Fatima Fernandes Juarez (Venezuela), Mohammed Suleiman Ahmed (Eritrea), Ahmad Ibrahim (Sudan), and the Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda, Archbishop Luigi Bianco, along with other diplomats.

The display of Iranian products, including the country’s renowned drones, added a touch of cultural richness to the celebration.

As the Glorious Victory anniversary celebration concluded, it left a resonating message of friendship, cooperation, and shared achievements between Iran and Uganda, echoing the commitment to further strengthen their diplomatic ties in the years to come.
