The Ethiopian Embassy in Kampala commemorated the 18th Nations, Nationalities, and People’s Day with a vibrant celebration held at the residence of the Ethiopian Ambassador, H.E Etsegenet Yimenu Bezabih.

The event served as a focal point for the Ethiopian community in Uganda, fostering connections and strengthening ties between Ethiopians and Ugandans in Kampala and Entebbe.

In an atmosphere filled with cultural vibrancy and camaraderie, Ambassador Etsegenet Yimenu Bezabih expressed the significance of creating avenues for social interaction and networking.

These platforms aim to solidify the community association and promote a deeper understanding between the Ethiopian and Ugandan communities.

Gracing the occasion as the guest of honor was the esteemed Kampala Central Division Mayor, Salim Uhuru, whose presence underscored the importance of cross-cultural collaboration and unity among nations.

Dignitaries from various diplomatic circles added to the grandeur of the celebration. Sudan’s Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Ahmad Ibrahim, graced the event with his presence, highlighting the regional significance of the gathering.

Additionally, Bethelehem Fisseha, the Ethiopian Airlines Area Manager for Uganda, honored the festivities with her attendance. NBS TV Managing Editor, Dalton Kaweesi was also present.

The colorful event showcased a myriad of cultural displays, including traditional music, dances, and exhibitions, emblematic of Ethiopia’s rich cultural heritage. Guests feasted on delicacies like injera and other foods.

Ambassador Etsegenet Yimenu Bezabih expressed the significance of creating avenues for social interaction and networking.It was a momentous occasion, fostering a deeper appreciation for Ethiopia’s diverse ethnic identities and celebrating the unity amidst this diversity.

The gathering climaxed with cutting of cake to celebrate the day and shaking of bones by the guests. Ethiopian Airlines also awarded raffle ticket winners an all expenses paid round trip. One of the winners was Ambassador Ahmad.
