Over 20 Ugandan Students Graduate in Medicine, Aviation and Tech from Russian Universities

MOSCOW, Russia — The Embassy of Uganda in Moscow has honoured more than 20 Ugandan students who successfully completed Bachelor’s, Master’s and specialist degree programmes at universities across the Russian Federation.

The congratulatory luncheon, held on 18 July 2026, celebrated the graduates’ academic achievements and recognised the growing educational partnership between Uganda and Russia.

The graduates completed studies in a wide range of strategic disciplines, including Medicine, Endocrinology, International Relations, Physics, Biotechnology, Fine Arts, Mathematics and Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Finance, Business Management, Mechatronics, Robotics and Electrical Engineering.

Others specialised in highly technical fields such as Aircraft Engineering, Aircraft Engines, Aircraft Construction, Aviation Engineering and Sustainable Chemistry for Energy Technologies, equipping them with expertise expected to contribute to Uganda’s industrialisation, innovation and human capital development.

The Embassy congratulated the graduates on reaching this important milestone and encouraged them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in Russia to support Uganda’s national development.

The mission also expressed appreciation to the Governments of Uganda and the Russian Federation for their continued commitment to educational cooperation and for supporting Ugandan students pursuing higher education in Russia.

The event underscored the strengthening people-to-people ties between Uganda and Russia, with education remaining a key pillar of bilateral relations through scholarships, academic exchanges and technical training.
