President Yoweri Museveni addresses 106 senior security officers after passing them out upon completion of the Advanced Joint Senior Political Education and Leadership Development Course.

President Yoweri Museveni has urged senior security officers to remain ideologically grounded and avoid confusion as they take up leadership responsibilities within Uganda’s security establishment.

Museveni made the remarks after passing out 106 senior security officers who successfully completed the Advanced Joint Senior Political Education and Leadership Development Course on Friday.

The President said security commanders must uphold patriotism, Pan-Africanism, discipline and national unity while providing strategic leadership to the country.

He tasked the graduates with using the knowledge acquired during the course to support Uganda’s socio-economic transformation and safeguard the country’s long-term interests.

Museveni has repeatedly argued that security officers must possess a clear understanding of Uganda’s history, political direction and development priorities, in addition to their professional military and security training.

The course is intended to strengthen ideological awareness, joint leadership and strategic coordination among senior officers drawn from Uganda’s security institutions.

The President said disciplined and ideologically conscious leadership would enable the officers to make sound decisions and effectively contribute to Uganda’s stability and transformation.

“I urged them to remain ideologically grounded, uphold patriotism and Pan-Africanism, and lead Uganda’s socio-economic transformation with discipline, unity and strategic clarity,” Museveni said.
