Hajjat Hadijja Namyalo, the Senior Presidential Advisor and head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) of the NRM, has pledged her commitment to empowering Ugandans in the diaspora during her participation at the annual Convention of Ugandans in South Africa (COUSA), held in Pretoria.
The well-attended convention brought together hundreds of Ugandans living across South Africa to deliberate on themes of unity, development, and national identity.
In her keynote address, Namyalo urged Ugandans abroad to remain deeply connected to their homeland and leverage existing government programs, particularly those targeting youth and women empowerment.
She highlighted patriotism, economic self-reliance, and active participation in Uganda’s transformation agenda as core responsibilities of every Ugandan, regardless of location.
“The diaspora is not just a community abroad; you are ambassadors of Uganda. Your role in building our image and contributing to our development cannot be underestimated,” Namyalo said.
Her engagement at COUSA was met with enthusiasm, with many attendees commending her for her consistent outreach and for prioritizing diaspora inclusion in national development efforts.
The event also provided an opportunity to reinforce ties between the ruling NRM party and Ugandans living outside the country.
