Cuba’s Foreign Affairs Minister, H.E. Bruno Rodriguez, has proposed that the Non-aligned Movement take more serious steps towards addressing the Israel – Palestine conflict.

H.E Bruno Rodriguez made the remarks while addressing the opening ceremony of the ministerial summit of the NAM in Kampala, Uganda.

“I proposed to the Movement to speak out with unity and firmness to demand a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which includes the creation of an independent Palestinian State,@ H.E Bruno said on twitter.

He also appreciated the movement’s support in demanding an end to the US blockade on Cuba.

“Cuba appreciates the valuable support of the Movement for its just demand for the end of the illegal US blockade. This criminal policy, which flagrantly violates the human rights of all Cubans, has been escalated to extreme levels since 2019,” he said.

The minister also declared Cuba’s unwavering dedication to consolidating the unity of the Non-aligned Movement (NAM) and reinforcing its crucial role as a mechanism for political coordination to confront current global challenges.

Minister Rodriguez emphasized the pivotal role of NAM in fostering collaboration among nations that choose not to align themselves with any major power bloc, asserting that unity is paramount in addressing the pressing issues facing the international community today.

He revealed this in a tweet on Wednesday after attending the opening ceremony of the Preparatory Ministerial Meeting of the XIX Summit.

“Cuba will continue working to consolidate the unity of the Movement and its role as a mechanism for political coordination to face current global challenges,” stated Minister Rodriguez.
