President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni today witnessed the signing of a landmark agreement between Uganda Airlines and Boeing for the acquisition of 10 new aircraft, marking a major milestone in the expansion of Uganda’s national carrier and the country’s aviation sector.

The fleet expansion programme will see Uganda Airlines acquire both passenger and cargo aircraft, significantly boosting its operational capacity and strengthening Uganda’s connectivity to regional and international markets.

Officials said the new aircraft will support the growth of trade, tourism, and investment by improving air transport services and enhancing the movement of people and goods. The expansion is also expected to increase cargo handling capabilities, providing a boost to Uganda’s export sector.
