President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is in a commanding early lead in Uganda’s presidential election, securing 76.25% of the vote (about 3.9 million votes), according to provisional results released by the Electoral Commission on Friday morning.
Opposition candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) is trailing with 19.85% (approximately 1.3 million votes).
The Electoral Commission said the figures are based on results from 45% of polling stations nationwide, cautioning that the outcome remains provisional as tallying continues.
