President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Monday held high-level diplomatic meetings with the British High Commissioner to Uganda, H.E. Lisa Chesney, and the United States Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. William W. Popp, at State House Entebbe.
The discussions centered on strengthening Uganda’s relations with the United Kingdom and the United States, focusing on areas of mutual interest, cooperation, and development.
During his meeting with High Commissioner Chesney, President Museveni emphasized the importance of deepening economic ties, trade partnerships, and investment opportunities between Uganda and the UK. The two also discussed areas of collaboration in security, governance, and regional stability.

Following this engagement, Museveni met with Ambassador Popp to explore avenues for enhancing Uganda-US cooperation. Their dialogue highlighted shared priorities, including economic development, security cooperation, and support for key sectors such as health and education.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Adonia Ayebare, Uganda’s Permanent Representative to the UN.
The diplomatic engagements come at a time when Uganda is seeking to bolster its international partnerships amid evolving global and regional dynamics. Both envoys reiterated their respective countries’ dedication to maintaining strong ties with Uganda, underscoring the importance of constructive dialogue and collaboration.
