President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Thursday hosted Rt Hon Baroness Chapman, the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for International Development and Africa, at State House Entebbe, where the two leaders held discussions on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding investment between Uganda and the United Kingdom.

During the meeting, President Museveni said the talks focused on deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly investment and economic partnership. He welcomed the British minister and reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to working closely with the United Kingdom to advance shared development goals.

The President also used the meeting to issue a strong appeal to British and European investors, urging them to take greater interest in Africa, which he described as a continent with enormous untapped economic potential.

“I called upon British and European investors to take a keen interest in investing in Africa, as the continent has enormous potential for economic growth, trade, and prosperity,” Museveni said.

He emphasized that increased investment would unlock opportunities for businesses while accelerating economic transformation, job creation, and regional trade across Africa.

The meeting underscores Uganda’s continued efforts to attract foreign direct investment and strengthen diplomatic and economic ties with key international partners, with the United Kingdom remaining one of Uganda’s longstanding development and trade partners.
