Minister Amongi Arrives in Doha to Ink Safe Labor Migration Deal with Qatar

Hon. Betty Amongi, Uganda’s Minister of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, has touched down in Doha, Qatar, with a significant agenda in her hands. Her mission? To solidify the Bilateral Labor Agreement between Uganda and Qatar, aimed at ensuring safe and regulated labor migration between the two nations.

The agreement, set to be inked during Amongi’s visit, marks an important step in the collaboration between Uganda and Qatar concerning labor migration.

This pact seeks to establish comprehensive frameworks and safeguards to protect the rights and welfare of Ugandan workers seeking employment opportunities in Qatar.

Minister Amongi has expressed her optimism regarding the potential benefits this agreement could yield for both countries.

The Bilateral Labor Agreement is poised to address various aspects of labor migration, including recruitment procedures, employment terms, and mechanisms for dispute resolution.
