Mali’s Ambassador-Designate Presents Credentials to Foreign Affairs

Dr. Madou Diallo, the Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Mali, has presented copies of his letters of credence to the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, General (Rtd) Odongo Jeje Abubakhar. The formal ceremony took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, Minister Odongo expressed Uganda’s commitment to further strengthening the bilateral ties that have existed over many years. He highlighted the mutual respect and cooperation that characterize the relationship between the two nations and underscored Uganda’s readiness to explore new avenues of collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

Dr. Diallo conveyed the greetings and well-wishes of the Government and people of Mali, reaffirming Bamako’s dedication to enhancing diplomatic and economic relations with Kampala. He emphasised the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation in addressing regional and global challenges, and in promoting peace, security, and sustainable development.

 

Both dignitaries engaged in talks on various aspects of bilateral cooperation, including trade, investment, education, and cultural exchanges. They acknowledged the potential for increased partnership and pledged to work closely to realise these opportunities for the benefit of both countries.

Minister Odongo assured Dr. Diallo of the Ministry’s full support during his tenure and expressed optimism that his appointment will usher in a new chapter of robust and dynamic relations between Mali and Uganda.

The presentation of the letters of credence marks a significant step in fortifying the ties between the Republic of Mali and the Republic of Uganda, reflecting a shared vision of progress and prosperity.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs looks forward to a productive and mutually beneficial engagement with Ambassador-Designate Dr. Madou Diallo.
