The Electoral Commission of Uganda has declared President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni the President-elect following Thursday’s general election.
According to the official results announced by the Commission Chairman Justice Simin Byabakama, Museveni secured 71.65% of the total votes cast. His closest challenger, National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine), garnered 24.7%.
