KAMPALA, Uganda — The Manager of the Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has challenged TikTok creators and other social media influencers to use their platforms to promote President Yoweri Museveni’s anti-poverty programmes instead of what she described as “trivial issues,” as the ruling party intensifies grassroots mobilization ahead of the upcoming LCII elections.
Speaking during a press conference at the ONC headquarters on Thursday, Namyalo said digital platforms have become powerful channels for shaping public opinion and should be used to educate Ugandans about government wealth creation initiatives, including the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga and other programmes aimed at lifting households out of poverty.
“Instead of spending time on trivial issues, tell people about the Parish Development Model and other government programmes. Do not allow yourselves to be used,” Namyalo said.
She urged content creators to become ambassadors of positive information by helping citizens understand how government programmes can improve incomes and transform communities.
The ONC boss also called on National Resistance Movement supporters across the country to replicate their performance in the recently concluded Local Council I (LCI) elections by delivering another commanding victory in the forthcoming LCII polls.

According to Namyalo, the NRM’s performance in the village-level elections, where the party reportedly won more than 71 percent of the seats, demonstrated continued public confidence in President Museveni’s leadership. She compared the outcome to Museveni’s vote share in the last presidential election, saying it reflected the ruling party’s enduring grassroots support.
She appealed to ONC Coordinators present, party structures, youth leaders and mobilizers to remain active throughout the electoral process to ensure the NRM consolidates its gains.
The Office of the National Chairman played a key role in coordinating the NRM’s vote protection strategy during the January general elections, overseeing grassroots mobilization efforts aimed at safeguarding the party’s vote across the country.
With the LCII elections, Namyalo said sustained mobilization, effective communication and public awareness about government programmes would be critical to securing another decisive victory for the ruling party while advancing President Museveni’s socio-economic transformation agenda.
