First Lady Janet Museveni Hails Patriotism Of Team Uganda At Commonwealth Games and Historic Woodball Triumph

KAMPALA – First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Janet Museveni has congratulated Team Uganda for its outstanding performances on the international stage, praising the country’s athletes for flying the national flag high through dedication, patriotism and excellence.

In a message shared on Monday, Mrs. Museveni singled out Uganda’s national woodball team for its historic success in Malaysia, alongside the country’s athletes who represented Uganda at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

“I warmly congratulate Team Uganda on their commendable performances on the international stage, including our woodball team for their historic success in Malaysia, and our athletes at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow,” she said.

The First Lady commended the athletes for their commitment to the country, noting that their achievements had brought pride and honour to Uganda.

“Your patriotism and commitment have made our nation proud. Thank you for representing Uganda with excellence,” she added.

She also offered prayers for the athletes’ continued success, expressing confidence that they would achieve even greater milestones in future international competitions.

“May God continue to strengthen and guide you to even greater achievements,” Mrs. Museveni said.

Her remarks come as Uganda continues to register notable successes across a range of sporting disciplines, with athletes increasingly making their mark in international competitions and raising the country’s profile on the global stage.
