Ethiopian Airlines has signed a landmark agreement with Panasonic Avionics Corporation to install the next-generation Astrova in-flight entertainment (IFE) system on its upcoming Boeing 777X fleet, marking a major step forward in passenger experience for Africa’s largest airline.

Under the deal, Panasonic’s state-of-the-art Astrova IFE solution will be line-fitted on eight Boeing 777-9 aircraft currently on order by the airline. The first of these aircraft is expected to enter service in 2028.

The Astrova system will deliver a fully immersive travel experience through 4K OLED HDR10+ screens, high-quality Bluetooth® audio, and up to 100W USB-C fast charging at every seat. It also includes programmable LED lighting, allowing Ethiopian Airlines to tailor the cabin ambiance for enhanced passenger comfort.
