Cuba has accused the United States of attempting to engineer a violent overthrow of President Nicolás Maduro’s government, warning that Washington’s actions threaten peace and stability across Latin America.

Havana condemned what it described as a renewed U.S. campaign to destabilize sovereign governments that resist its geopolitical agenda.

The accusations come after the White House insisted that U.S. counter-narcotics airstrikes in Venezuela would continue, reiterating its view that the Maduro administration is “illegitimate.”

Cuban authorities say that the U.S. is supporting extremist networks inside Venezuela to promote unrest and force regime change through “non-democratic means.”

The sharp exchange marks an escalation in tensions between Washington and two of the region’s most sanctioned governments, raising concerns about broader regional implications.
