Chinese Deputy Chairman Denounces Bullying Politics, Vows to Enhance China-Uganda Relations and Legislative Cooperation

The Parliament of Uganda received a distinguished delegation led by H.E Luòsāng Jiāngcūn, the Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China. The meeting, marked by discussions on the upcoming Non-Aligned Movement Summit and various strategic issues, showcased the commitment of both nations to fostering mutual interests and collaboration.

In his remarks, Uganda’s Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, conveyed Parliament’s warm sentiments, emphasizing the deep-rooted friendship between Uganda and China. He expressed gratitude for the longstanding cooperation spanning political, security, economic, social, cultural, and scientific domains, acknowledging China’s consistent support as a reliable partner in Uganda’s national development.

Tayebwa extended appreciation to H.E. Xi Jinping and Deputy Chairman Luòsāng Jiāngcūn for their unwavering support, underscoring the significance of their contributions to Uganda’s growth and progress.

Responding to the discussions, Deputy Chairman Luòsāng Jiāngcūn applauded Uganda’s pivotal role in ensuring regional peace, security, and upholding Africa’s unity and collective interests. He pledged continued support to Uganda’s development initiatives while condemning any form of political bullying or interference.

“The solidarity between our nations is crucial,” stated Deputy Chairman Jiāngcūn, reaffirming China’s commitment to bolstering the relationship between the two countries. He emphasized the importance of nurturing strong ties and fostering exchanges and cooperation between the legislative bodies of China and Uganda.

The meeting served as a platform to reinforce the shared commitment of both nations to collaborate on multifaceted issues, including regional stability, economic development, and bilateral partnerships. The discussions highlighted the mutual respect and determination to strengthen ties while advocating for non-interference and mutual support in each other’s developmental agendas.
