The 3rd Uganda-EU Business Forum kicked off today at the picturesque Speke Resort Munyonyo on the outskirts of Uganda’s capital, Kampala.
This three-day event, running from March 5th to 7th, has emerged as a key platform for fostering economic partnerships and exploring opportunities for trade and investment between Uganda and the European Union.
It has attracted a diverse range of participants, including business leaders, policymakers, and investors from Uganda and various EU member states.
In the past few minutes, the EU Ambassador to Uganda, Jan Sadek made opening remarks during the opening session. Uganda’s Finance Minister Matia Kasaija has also delivered remarks emphasizing the importance of the EU as a formidable trade partner with Uganda. The EU is the biggest funder of Foreign Direct Investment in Uganda.

France’s Ambassador to Uganda Xavier Sticker posted on X (Former Twitter) his optimism about the event saying;
“I look forward to the new trade and investment opportunities that this 3rd edition, even bigger than the previous one, will bring. 24 French companies are on site.”
The primary focus of the forum revolves around trade and investment, reflecting the shared commitment of both regions to boost economic cooperation.
Delegates engage in in-depth discussions and workshops aimed at identifying key areas for mutual growth, exploring innovative solutions, and strengthening economic ties.
