Museveni Hosts Nigeria’s Pastor Adeboye for Bishop Patience’s Consecration

Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni have hosted Pastor Enoch Adeboye and his wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye, the global leaders of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) from Nigeria, at State House Entebbe.

Museveni said Christianity has added value to Africa’s ancient cultures, particularly through teachings on love, forgiveness and peaceful coexistence.

He cited the Christian teaching of loving one’s neighbour, extending love even to those with whom one disagrees, and the parable of the Good Samaritan as values consistent with the National Resistance Movement (NRM) principle of putting interests above identity.

“These values have strengthened our heritage as a people,” Museveni said.

The President also welcomed Pastor Adeboye and other guests who have travelled to Uganda to witness the consecration of his daughter, Patience, as a Bishop, scheduled to take place on Sunday in Maya.
