Uganda marked a pivotal moment with the official opening of its consulate in Arusha, Tanzania. The inauguration ceremony, held at the newly established consulate located on Haile Selasie Avenue, was graced by Rebecca Kadaga, the 1st Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda and Minister of East Africa Affairs, serving as the Guest of Honour.
Accompanied by esteemed dignitaries, including Deputy Secretary-General Anette Mutaawe Semuwemba and Consul General Anne Katusiime, Kadaga unveiled the plaque, symbolizing the inauguration of the consulate on behalf of His Excellency, the President of Uganda.
During the ceremony, Kadaga emphasized the significance of this establishment in fostering and enhancing the longstanding goodwill and collaboration between Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania, reaffirming the commitment to nurturing a robust relationship between the sister countries.
Addressing the attendees, Kadaga expressed her optimism about the consulate’s role in deepening cooperation and facilitating closer ties, not only at the governmental level but also among the people of both nations. She highlighted the consulate’s strategic location in Arusha as pivotal in strengthening economic, cultural, and social exchanges between Uganda and Tanzania.
The inauguration ceremony served as a testament to the dedication of both nations in fortifying their diplomatic connections and fostering mutual prosperity. The event was marked by a spirit of collaboration and goodwill, symbolizing a new chapter in the enduring friendship between Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania.
