Mr Ssebunya Henry, now serving as Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kalangala District, officially handed over the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Youth League Chairmanship for Nakaseke District to Balya Robert.

The handover ceremony, held yesterday in Nakaseke, marked the end of an active chapter for Ssebunya, who previously held the same deputy RDC position in Kiryandongo District. Known for his deep involvement in youth mobilization and leadership, Ssebunya has served both in the Youth Council and the NRM Youth League as District Chairman, making him a prominent figure in youth political structures within the region.

Present at the event was Gordon Musinguzi, the District Youth Council Chairman and Assistant RDC in neighboring Nakasongola District. Musinguzi lauded Ssebunya’s dedication to youth development and his consistent mentorship of upcoming leaders.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ssebunya urged the incoming leadership to remain committed and proactive as the country prepares for a nationwide renewal of youth council structures expected to begin early next month.

“As a senior youth and elder in the struggle, I encourage you to keep the fire burning. The renewal of structures is an opportunity to energize the movement with new ideas and enthusiasm. Be ready to lead from the front,” Ssebunya advised.

The event served not only as a leadership transition but also as a platform to rally young people around the core values of the NRM and ensure continued grassroots mobilization ahead of key national processes.

Ssebunya Henry’s contributions are widely recognized as instrumental in shaping the political direction and mobilization strength of young people within the NRM.
