The Russian Embassy in Uganda welcomed Maj. Gen. Sergey Marchuk, the recently appointed head of the office of Russian military specialists, for discussions aimed at enhancing military cooperation between Russia and Uganda.
The meeting, which took place on March 25, was hosted by Russian Ambassador to Uganda, Vladlen Semivolos.
Discussions centered around exploring avenues to strengthen the existing military ties between the two nations. Both parties expressed their commitment to fostering bilateral cooperation in various military domains, including training, technology transfer, and strategic partnership.
Ambassador Semivolos reiterated Russia’s longstanding commitment to supporting Uganda’s defense capabilities and underscored the importance of consolidating mutual interests in the military sphere.
Maj. Gen. Sergey Marchuk conveyed Russia’s eagerness to deepen collaboration with Uganda in defense-related areas. He emphasized the potential for joint military exercises, knowledge exchange programs, and the enhancement of Uganda’s defense infrastructure through Russian expertise and assistance.
