Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni has been recognized for his outstanding leadership and commitment to social and economic development as he received the prestigious Social and Economic Commitment Award from the European Corporate Council on Africa and the Middle East (ECAM) last night in Rome.

The award ceremony, held at a gala dinner, saw Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja receiving the accolade on behalf of President Museveni. The event was attended by distinguished Heads of State and Government, with the notable presence of Kenya’s President H.E. William Ruto and Somalia’s President H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

ECAM commended President Museveni and the Ugandan government for their humanitarian efforts in welcoming refugees from various African countries and beyond. The recognition underscores Uganda’s commitment to providing a safe haven for those fleeing conflict and persecution.

Prime Minister Nabbanja, who accepted the award on behalf of President Museveni, expressed gratitude for the international acknowledgment of Uganda’s dedication to social and economic progress. She highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the challenges faced by the African continent.

In addition to the award ceremony, various leaders from across Africa convened at the Italy-Africa Summit in Rome on the same day. Prime Minister Nabbanja, representing President Museveni, actively participated in discussions addressing key issues affecting the region.

The Italy-Africa Summit provided a platform for leaders to engage in constructive dialogue on economic cooperation, regional stability, and sustainable development. As President Museveni’s administration continues to receive international recognition for its dedication to social and economic development, Uganda remains a key player in regional diplomacy and cooperation. The Social and Economic Commitment Award from ECAM serves as a testament to the positive impact of Uganda’s policies on the well-being of its citizens and the broader African community.
